Me either. I just make sure it's at the top mark when sitting level.

Yeah just leave it at the top mark, no need for extra oil, that would be potentially hard on the crank...

another dumb question. Do you run with the engine cover on ? I figure more heat would escape with it off, but I don't know if the paint on the hood could handle the heat ???

The hood paint issue used to be an issue due to bad paint, NOT engine heat.

I ran 1/2 qt over, just because it made me feel better. Probably wasn't necessary with street tires. I burnt about 1/2 qt over the weekend, but I consider that normal under flogging the motor all weekend. 200 track miles.

    Re: Road course oil level

No extra oil and we run on the Cal Speedway banking at speed. Just make sure you constantly monitor the oil levels and dont run her low. Now fuel, that's a different story. We try not to run under 1/4 tank of it will start to have pick up issues under high load conditions. One of the cars we installed a custom fuel trap to keep the fuel supply happy.

Also we remove the engine covers for track events. Don't need to trap the extra heat.

    Thank you,
