GTR is a great car but certainly not unbeatable by any means, I've had my way with every single one of them I've come across in my area but with my EVO, not CTS-V.

If you're looking to beat a stock GTR with your CTS-V, you'll need the following:
    - automatic
    - drag radials
    - intake
    - upper pulley
    - tune
    - headers & x-pipe
    - Either a lower pulley, or ported snout/blower or Nitrous... Any combination of the two would do the job for sure.

Regardless of the combination of mods, you need to target ~600whp in your V to hang with a stock 2013 - earlier years are much easier to deal with.
    mannyz and mannyz like this.

You need to shave off the pounds more than increase the power.

Lighter seats, ditch the comfy ones
Cf parts hood, fenders, doors, rear deck, and racing glass ...

Also ditch the stock exhaust for either ss or Ti...

LOL... Y'all are crackin me up here! They are bad boys, but so are the Vs, lest you forget.

Here's me on a "bad" day at the track against a modded GTR. Listen carefully to the announcer after the launch. He didn't pass me till the ~1000 ft mark. Stock rims w/MT 19s, 1.6 60 Foots

Nice video! I don't care how you other guys see it, but a four door family car just brought it to a dedicated high performance car. AWD, launch control, twin turbo supercar just got left behind at the light by a Caddy and had to play catch up. Years of engineering went into creating the GTR. The V is based on a family sedan with a big motor and tuned suspension. The fact that we can even discuss racing a GTR says a lot about our cars.

u need a Corvette to beat a GTR..both have transaxle => better balance. the GTR have benefit over Vette is DCT and AWD when it pull.. but Vette is lighter...
i don't think u should waste money in it..

the Only thing your V will beat GTR is reliability ...

    Or how about an AWD 650hp twin-turbo 2015 CTS-V!

    Re: Beating Godzilla

Problem with the CTS-V is it's weight! It needs to weigh a lot less to contend with the GTR.

The reason why a stock ZR1 can compete with the GTR is the ZR1's low weight and huge torque and the GTR still beats it due to it's AWD feature.

The CTS-V isn't even in the same category as the GTR. I wouldn't even try to race the two against each other.

The Sigma II is a world class chassis, not some plebian family sedan chassis...

Crap guys, a fox body Mustang can take out a GT-R. It's not that hard.

This is how it's done. Watch this video:
