The Whipple is a POS (I am finished with mine) and the 2.3 is not much better than the 1.9 (not $2k worth anyways). I am having my 1.9 ported and I'll be between 700-725WHP (with other mods).

HAVE YOU EVER TRIED THE ZR1 2.3 OR KNOW ANYONE WHO HAS USED IT?

I heard it first hand. I will PM you details. Also, if the 2.9 Whipple is not better than a stock ported 1.9, how can a 2.3 be any better than a stock pported 1.9? It may net a few more ponies but not enough that justifies an extra $2k+. Probably better off putting the $ elsewhere (heads?)

Guys are making great power with the G-force ZL1 set-up.
That being said I'm over 800 at the crank running E-85 on a fully ported 1.9.

Going from a 1.9 to a 2.3 doesnt seem like a big enough increase to me for the money. Power wise, I cant see less than a half liter of size making THAT much more...but, I'd be more curious in IAT's. Dyno's only tell half the story. Sure, my tiny ass 1.6L blower on my old 4.6 3v mustang made 430rwhp nice and cool on the dyno, but 2 passes on the strip and I was losing a full 1/2 second (50hp+?). Going to a 2.3L blower, my IAT's dropped to under 120* during the summer (under 100 during cooler months) when cruising and never broke 135* during passes.

Anywho, I'd love to see real world IAT differences between the 1.9 and 2.3; not dyno numbers.

I am already doing the heads, cam porting and pulley upgrade and am now considering the bigger blower. I didn't want to spend another $7000 + for a 2.9 but an 2.3 might be do-able.

For those who have made the upgrade:
    1) Would you recomend it, ie: pros and cons
    2) Were ther any major complications
    3) What is a realistic cost for the upgrade?

    Thanks guys
How about sharing the thread where we can find a $2000.00 TVS 2300 blower from the ZR1
