    Muffler Delete with Helmholtz Pipes

I have decided that my V is too quiet. And, I don't much like the available exhaust systems. So, I have materials ordered to do a muffler delete, with new tips, and Helmholtz resonator pipes.

Here is a link to our past installs:

I'll post the pictures and results in about a week.

does this also get rid of the pops and burbles on decel and in between shifts?

The Helmholtz pipes won't do much to stop the pops. Adding spark advance to the decel tune table does greatly reduce the popping.

Here are the details. All went well! The sound is a little louder than expected but very acceptable, no cruise drone, and a rippey urgent sound with power.

Are both ends open into the tail pipe?

Red, you know better than most, only the front joint of the U is open to the exhaust. The rear joint is butted against the pipe instead of installing a cap. Much more rigid this way.

And you may be ahead of the gang. The muffler on the new ATS looks alot like that big ugly stocker you show above.

Great job on a very stable-looking solution.

Any updates on the exhaust. Rattles, drone, day to day impressions of the new set-up? Maybe a sound clip.

Exhaust is a little louder than expected below 1600 RPM. At 2000 RPM exhaust is quiet for highway cruise. Upper RPM sound is still there.
