    Custom Tuning Question

    Hi Guys,

The shop that tuned my 2010 V did a killer job, and I've noticed about 55 HP gain with just a CAI + custom tuning. They've done multiple cars for me before so I know it's a "Safe" tune and not worried about longevity on the engine.

My question is, Ive got an Auto and they changed the shift points to have the car running higher RPM's on a constant basis. Even at low speeds with a slow roll on the throttle I'm shifting around 4,000 RPMs. Predictably the throttle response and immediate pull/wheel spin makes the car feel a helluva lot faster. Has anyone seen issues with running at consistently higher RPM's?? The car is also running richer after the tune (12 bars?) and gas mileage sucks. Not that big of a deal though.

    Thanks!

What did they say when you went back and asked them? Hey, more power needs more gas, so you can't have a free lunch!

This is Amuurica! You can complain about anything! . No complaints on my end. Just didn't know if running high RPMs on-the-regular would f**k anything up. Seen random issues from others.

With my W4M tune the shift points at partial throttle are only 500 - 1000 RPM higher.
I would ask the tuner to lower the shift points on your car.

...or ask them to make it your Sport mode only since it uses separate tables...

Ditto. Mine shows no difference at part throttle either. It only raised the shift points since it was still climbing at 6200.

I get 20-21 on the highway and make close to 600 at the wheels on 93, my trans shifts like stock until you get into it.

Geez...20-21mpg with that power... I make 545/589, i get about 16mpg on the highway. ECS kept the D mode same, and S mode shift point higher, although I cant recall off top of my head.
