Turning off traction control, stability control completely, totally not what u think

Ok so I already know that if you hold down the traction control button for 5 seconds it says Stabiltrak off.

However, if I come around a corner and mash the gas and get really out of shape it will still come on. Is there
any secret to disable it completely, totally, so it never under any circumstances comes on?

Hard to drift around a corner when it comes on!

Keep in mind I have 600 rwhp so it can get really, really out of shape!

Did it say competitive mode? You want to hit it longer and then all the "nannies" will go off. Search is your friend! http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...abilitrak.html

I don't need to search I know that you hold it down for a while and then it says Stabiltrak off. That is the one step less restrictive than competitive mode, but even in Stabiltrak off mode if I get it way out of shape it will snap it back.

Is it saying "Stabilitrak engaged" on the cluster? If not, it's just your tires finally getting traction, not the Stabilitrak.

Yeah, but what I want to know is HOW IS IT POSSIBLE FOR THE SYSTEM TO AUTOMATICALLY TURN STABILITRAC BACK ON WHEN IT'S TOTALLY BEEN SHUT OFF?

Yes, that happens, apparently in some high hp, manual, Vs, like mine.

Sh*t, I'll seriously PAY someone for the answer to this mystery...

I am at 550 rwhp and have no issues when I turn the traction control off by holding down for 5 seconds or so. I can get it all sorts of out of control and have never had the traction control kick back on. Once the ignition cycles, the car defaults back to having the traction control back on.

Luna, I can almost guarentee your issue is with your boost a pump setup. When the AMP draw of the Stock fuel pumps exceeds a certain draw, then the system resets. That is why yours turns back on. If you turn the knob down a bit and try again, it will go away. But depending on how you hook it up and what bap you are using will determine where that setting can be set to...

I can make this problem show up instantly with it hooked up with to low of amp current for the demand.

Just go the boot and turn it down a bit, however doing this will also change your wide open throttle fueling, if it lowers your fuel pressure, so make sure it is still correct when doing it.

Have you tried holding the button down to turn it off??? Just kidding.

Next time it rains, I'll see if I can go do donuts in a parking lot with mine off. What year is your car? Maybe certain years don't allow it to be totally turned off? I dunno.

I did three full revolution donut in the parking lot before our beer league hockey game last week just by pressing the button once and not holding it down.

    Maybe it's the driver?

    Just kidding.

Do you have a boost a pump? I have this problem with mine now? Turn the KB boost a pump off problem goes away. I just installed the msd programable version to see if I can fix this?

600+ the msd dont work well either, It lacks in the required 60+ Amp Draw on the pumps when it kicks in to full duty cycle.
