Good idea RemoWilliams! We can do it. Let's do 10% off for a group buy of 10 Air Intakes or more. Anyone who is in, please reply to this post.

    Nice I'm in.
KPE - Maybe I'm stretching but, could a filter recharge kit be thrown in for the group buy?

    Hi,

Thanks, to all, for the oiled filter responses. Some of the earlier posts, on this thread, had me concerned.

Group buy.... please, count me in.

    Best regards,
    Jeffrey

    Re: KPE Cold Air Intake

I'm IN on the group buy, because the intake itself is obviously a great design and I love the OEM look of the cover; best one out there that I've seen so far. What I do about the filter itself is my problem!

Thanks Bob for working this for us!

It's my pleasure! Should we start a new thread for the Group Buy or just stay on this one?

    Re: KPE Cold Air Intake

I just finished installing the KPE CAI. I only drove about 1.5 miles just to test it out and according to Bob at KPE it will take about 40 miles for the ECU to relearn the air intake, so right now I can't speak regarding any HP gains. I can tell you that the supercharger is defiantly more audible. The weekend is supposed to be great around here so I will get more drive time and report back. With the group buy option for those of you who are on the fence as to whether to buy this CAI I would pull the trigger.

    Re: KPE Cold Air Intake

    Gentleman,

I am not trying to step on Bob / KPE’s toes, but I would like to add some important information to this discussion about “Oiled” and “Dry” filters.

First the whole concern about the “oil” contaminating a MAF sensor is a “Myth” as it’s never been proven to be a cause of failure. GM does not have a way of testing the MAF sensor and they use the Oil “Myth” to attempt to get out of doing warranty work.

When dealing with air filters you need to keep in mind that not all Cotton gauze filters are created equal.

The AIRAID Premium Filter is designed with 4 layers of cotton gauze and then we incorporate a 5th layer of Synthetic material that we call “Synthaflow”. The main advantages of our Cotton/Synthetic blend filter over a traditional “Cotton” only filter is that our combination allows for far superior filtration, and it will NOT ALLOW any oil to penetrate through the 5th layer, so there are not any issues with any oil getting close to any of the sensors.

The AIRAID Premium filter offers the best combination of airflow and filtration of any performance filter on the market today!

All AIRAID premium filters are also hand made here in our PHX, AZ manufacturing plant and they are all backed by a Lifetime “No-Hassle” Warranty!

For the members who still prefer not to run a “oiled” filter, AIRAID will be offering our new “Non-Oiled” SYNTHAMAX filter in the very near future that will be available for purchase as a direct replacement air filter. Just keep in mind, the performance will be a bit less with a “Non-Oiled” filter as they flow less air than the cotton / synthetic version.

Any other questions please feel free and let me know.

    Thanks,
    David
