Solid launch capability. I wonder if the new V is going to have the same "You're never gonna do a decent burn out in this car" computer technology that the upcoming Vettes are rumored to have?

GM has proven time and time again that they will share the high end Vette motors (with slight variations) with other product.

But I'm not holding my breath for 600hp.

Well then Lutz can blow me. He told me "unexpectedly high" hp numbers. I expect 525hp. I don't expect 600hp.

    DAMN IT! I WANT SATISFACTION!

I'm making this a habit about every three posts on the subject so I can say "I told you so" in a few months:

Yeah all of that....I'm still saying its going to have some type of launch control. ONE more thing. I never said 600hp is too much. Thats just crazy, not too much. I'm buying one no matter what the hp rating. I'm ready.....

I mean, that's what I've been thinking! 600 hp for under 55k relative to 400 hp for 50 k (msrp) is actually a cheaper car! And when you factor in inflation there is no way that the '09 V will have 600 hp and be under 55k. I hope I'm wrong becuase if I am I'm buying one tomorrow.

Let's not forget things are generally getting more expensive....

If anybody is interested in my two cents, which you probably aren't, but here it is so listen the f**k up!

All this care needs is as follows:

    1. Moderately flared fenders with at least 285's in the rear giving it an aggressive stance

    2. 500 - 600 hp, obviously the more the better

    3. Manual tranny, maybe with an optional auto for those who need it

    4. Decent colours (including white!)

    5. A solid rear end

    6. No goofy tail lights with nipples on them

    7. BLUETOOTH!!!

    8. Adjustable suspension with so many other Caddys and Corvettes have

    9. A competitive driving or sport mode which actually adjust the engine power and not just the stabilitrack and traction setup

    10. Tblack behind the wheel*

OK, a comment from a female.

<begin rant> MORE FREAKIN INTERIOR STORAGE WOULD BE NICE!! I need to store those cosmetics so I can apply mascara while buzzing along at 80 mph. j/k!!! But PLEASE. A decent console and a glovebox big enough for actual GLOVES. <end rant>

Oh, and a locking gas cap since gas will be the next big jacking item. Or at least an interior gas door release thingy. "Dey jacked my gaz."

    LOL

All the speculation will soon be moot. The Dealer training tour is getting ready to make the rounds, and we get to drive the cars. I'm scheduled to drive it on August 1st, and you can bet I'll be back with pics and info (unless someone from a dealer earlier on the tour beats me to it).
Rest in Peace, J.D. (aka Dirt_Cheap_Fleetwood)

This thread will be a lot longer on August 2nd with folks asking where the hell are those pics you promised. And cute and lovable penguins will not be an acceptable substitute. Seriously, doesn't GM block you from taking and posting pics on this tour before the auto show debut of the V? Of course, that's what Monster.com is for...

Hi Baby Doll. My understanding is, that's what those big fracking purses are for.
