exhaust, heat exchanger, void warranty? Worried about Supercharger Rattle issue!

Magnuson Moss Warranty Act: US Code – Title 15, Chapter 50, Sections 2301-2312, your vehicle’s factory warranty is protected by law when you add aftermarket parts.

Your warranty is protected to a point that if your window stops rolling up, they can't not fix it under warranty due to a pulley or something unrelated... but you're pretty well saying goodbye to your power train warranty as you mod your engine/drive train.

As for your supercharger replacement and it has a smaller pulley... I'd be worried. It might depend on your service manager but since this is a known issue it might still be covered. No guarantees.

All Mag. Moss covers is that it is upon the dealer to prove that the aftermarket part caused the malfunction before denying a claim.

Yes, I'm concerned. The car is a gorgeous '13 Dia.Blk/ebony LOADED 8,00mi, not a mark. if I get it should I put it back to stock? What's it worth the way it sits?

Don't mod if you cant afford to fix it all by yourself if you blow the motor........simple rule to live by.

This. This is good advice. Returning to stock may be your best bet. What all is done to it? I might be up for trading and/or buying some of your parts during the de-modding process...

Good luck with this decision making process. I would also suggest meeting with your Service Manager before buying and ask lots of questions about the mods that are on there and what they do affect... If it's more than you can handle - pass and find another one. They'll be around.

    Good luck.

    Re: Warranty Questions??

If you give me the VIN I can run it through the GM warranty system to see what has been repaired under warranty.

My understanding is that even if the current owner de-modded the car and put back the factory tune the dealership will still be able to tell, thus canceling an important chunk of the warranty.
Unless the owner is ready to offer a really good deal, and you're willing to take a risk, I'd start looking elsewhere for a V.
The guy sending a clip of himself doing smoky burnouts as a selling point isn't very smart. Makes me wonder how he treats this car on a daily basis. Just my .02

    Re: Warranty Questions??

I'd never buy a car with more than an intake/exhaust in mods.
Just not worth the stress, or worry.
If you're even thinking about returning a modded car to stock, regardless of the car, then just find a stock one. This way you and only you know how the car has been "treated" and what exactly has been done to it.
You'll likely have a legit warranty as well.
You're concerned about warranty, you should be, don't buy that car unless you're getting it for 50 cents on the dollar and you know how to fix it when it breaks.
Not hard to find a stock CTS-V
