Yes, I notice a difference too. I think there have been a few threads on this.

I first noticed it on my '12 3.6L Coupe and noticed the same on my V. There have been a few threads on this in the past. Not sure there is anything that can be done since one has mechanical components and the other is purely electronic.

Mine is dead on. Honestly, I haven't checked it in 3 years. When new, I checked it a lot and I got tired of looking at the digital and then checking the analog instinctively so I just run analog now.

Parallax may be the issue you guys are having.

Those noticing it - running different tire sizes than stock? Mine is dead on as well, stock sizes all around. I know on my truck that when I went two sizes bigger tires it was a little off. My dad drives a 3-series and his analog speedo is off farther the faster he goes. It's not a set number as much as its a ratio to speed. Crazy stuff.

No. I'm on stock PS2s. I use the digital so I don't pay it much mind but it is off a tad.

Re: Analog Speedo vs Digital Speedo

The Analog gauge works with a (PWM) Pulse Width Modulated signal driving a magnetic armature against a spring. The unit self calibrates every time you start the car to the top speed on the gauge but then assumes the spring pressure is linear and it is usually not, this results in some gauges having an error and some not. The digital will always be more accurate, it does not matter about the tires both gauges get the same pulses from the drive shaft sensor in the transmission. Use the digital to calibrate the speedometer in your car and then remember how much it is off. Maybe next time around GM can put an extra 50 cents in the analog gauges to have then be more accurate. CUE solves the problem as the speedometer is graphically generated and therefore will be the same as the digital gauge all of the time. I guess that is one way to solve the problem.

It used to drive me nuts with my C6Z, (head up display) got used to it....so when I got my first 3.6 Coupe and it did it, I thought, okay same thing different car.

Of course the V does it too....

Re: Analog Speedo vs Digital Speedo

Mine is bone stock as well and the analog reads 2-3 mph faster than the digital. The digital matches right up with the digital display on my Escort 9500ix radar detector, so the analog gauge is routinely ignored.

My problem is the analog gauge too. I was watching the highway speed warnings, with the radar gun. If enough of us complain, caddy will do something.

    LOL. Doubtful.

My analog gauge is off too. Talked to the dealer who just shrugged and said "known issue and nothing we can do".

Doubtful NOT. Cadillac monitors this website, and they want to keep us happy. There's at least 10 of us here, and probably 1000's who haven't noticed it yet. And with GM doing recalls over anything, and everything these days, I'm sure the Caddy rep will chime in soon. If the speedo is running fast, maybe the odometer is running fast.
