    Twin turbos blowing to supercharger???

So I am surfing the internet and I see this video. Twin turbos blowing through factory supercharger? Is this even possible? Why would someone put twin turbos onto the stock sc? I'm sure it's theoretically possible but why??? http://youtu.be/LKeKgdpHEYQ

Maybe sc for lower rpms and when the turbos spool up the extra power comes in at higher rpms?

Search for twin charging. It's being done increasingly more now. Supercharger gives you more low end torque, and the turbos take over on the high end after the supercharger loses breathing room.

In all though, much too complicated and expensive to be worth it on the CTS-V.

This is relatively common on marine diesels, out of the hole on the SC and then the turbo's take over at cruising speed.

The old Detroit Diesel 12V 71 series engines I used to overhaul were turbocharged, and supercharged....and intercooled. They had 2 of each.

Yup. P38 J Lighting had twin turbo/superchargers. Awesome WWII aircraft use in the Pacific theater.

My boss when I was a teenager had one in his museum that he still uses at air shows.

The Germans called it the "forked devil." It had a lot of firepower and great rate of climb. I think the P-51D's Merlin V12 had a similar setup.

The new Volvo power plants with have both in the T6 variant. A 2.0L, both supercharged and turbo charged will be putting out 300hp.

Actually, they called it the Forked-Tail Devil, due to its dual-fuselage configuration.

Yes, I'm not always a great proof reader. P-38's shot down Adm. Yamamoto in the Pacific theater.

Re: Twin turbos blowing to supercharger???

Our blowers aren't designed for this. They added snails to a local V in front of the SC & he ended up removing the SC. After that, the car made more power & didn't have the terrible heat soak in the blower.
