What's a reasonable price for installing new wheels?

Hey all, two prong question: From your experiences, 1) What range of pricing should I consider reasonable when having a shop/dealer install four new wheels; and 2) Would you recommend having a Cadillac dealership or a local reputable shop do the installation?

I recently ordered and am eagerly awaiting delivery of these wheels http://www.carid.com/niche-wheels/ta...d-4165834.html

Two are 19" x 8.5", 5x120.65 Bolt Pattern, 72.6mm Hub and the other two are 19" x 9.5", 5x120.65 Bolt Pattern, 72.6mm Hub. I've received mixed feedback from sales reps and the wheel manufacturer itself as to whether or not these will even fit, but CarID gave me a fitment guarantee so I went ahead with the order and have my fingers crossed.

    I have a 2010 V Sedan.

Any advice you guys could provide would be much appreciated.

No more than 20 bucks a wheel for mount and balance. Have whichever shop you trust mount them and keep an eye on the process.

Agree, it must be a shop you trust; my caddy dealer (Lindsay) does my tire swaps, but only because I know and trust them. There are plenty of good local tire shops, too.

Here in the DC metro area, generally $25 per wheel is more the norm for a tire swap, but I am sure that you can shop around for lower prices.

I would also check or confirm the fit yourself before taking to the installer for a tire swap. If they don't fit, even though the vendor might buy the wheels back, they will not reimburse you for the $200+ that you will have to pay the installer for what would be 2 tire swaps.....

$15-20 per wheel. Low profile wheels on larger rims are more difficult and usually cost more.
$150 for an alignment if you are changing from stock sizes.

I would echo these, but I would use caution in going for the cheapest installer.

Cheap installers have ancient equipment without rubber guards, and this car has 19" rims. It's worth to pay more sometimes than risk having to deal with scratched rims or poor balancing.

    2) Mount balance $9 per wheel.
    3) Wave magic wand to relearn TPMS - FREE.

FWIW, about $110 today at Discount Tire to remove my pilot supersports and mount and balance my new Bridgestone Potenza S-04 Pole Positions on my stock wheels. I went there because they have a new-fangled touchless tire machine that doesn't touch the rim, so no scratches.
