Ordered car, question about front plate bracket

    Hi All,
Quick question, my dealer ordered a front bracket plate for my CTS-V wagon order. I told them not to put it on when the car comes in since I am going to have the tow hook plate. I just wanted to make sure this isnt actually installed in the factory and is indeed done at the dealer.

    Thanks,
    Eddie

It is done at the dealership. My front plate mount is in my trunk.

Make sure you restate that you don't want the front plate bracket installed to your salesman and even talk to the Service manager.
The car may come in and go right to pre delivery prep and some one there may install it because that's what they normally do and didn't get instructions to do otherwise from any one in time.

PS Congrats and Your going to love the car !

Both answers above are right on the money. The dealers are required to order it, they are not required to install it. But the get-ready guys can be robots so make sure that you remind the salesman to make sure it stays in the trunk. My two CTSv's and my mustang has/had them in the trunk for the duration.
I also tell em not to install their dealer emble/decal....which I have occasionally had to peel off. At least it's not like the old days where they would drill holes to install the dealer emblems.......

One front plate ticket, though, in the past 10 years....while parked.

    Just say no.

This applies to drugs, and also to front lic. plates.

When I took my SRT8 off the lot first mod I did was remove the dealer license plate frame and trunk sticker. Had to take it back for something couple days later and they put a new sticker on. I just rolled my eyes.

Be there when it rolls in and take pictures problem solved.

Re: Ordered car, question about front plate bracket

The front plate bracket works great if you just tie it on to the lower mesh part of the grille with zip ties. No holes punched through the painted panel that's between the upper and lower mesh areas, it's very secure and it looks like it's where it's supposed to be. No effect on airflow in day-to-day driving. I just cut it off for track days and reattach it with new zip ties for the drive home. The cops here are completely unreasonable if you drive without your front plate.
I also made sure the dealer was aware that I would not accept the car if they had attached the front plate bracket.

    Best regards,

    Elie

Call like 3 people at the dealership, send them emails too.

State that you will not purchase car if front plate is installed.
