Well, it took them 5 years to catch up. Hopefully, the ATS-V will put them on the trailer, once again.

That's pretty impressive for a non-V8 equipped vehicle. I am sure the ATS-V will be just as fast, if not faster. Not worried.

$2000 pully, exhaust tune, > greater than the new M3 and better looking

    Done.

Cadillac has the opportunity to set the benchmark shortly. No worries here, either.

Same holds true for new M4 except it doesn't need a pully but just a tune. Funny thing is, in the year I've been on this forum most of the talk is centered around acceleration times.
People choose 6AT over 6MT because it's quicker. It lacks the thrill of driving a 6MT but it apparently serves those who only seek "0-60 times".
BMW doesn't build drag cars. So if you think putting one on the trailer because it takes an extra tenth to reach 60 is an accomplishment I'd suggest your camparing apples to oranges.
Moreover, if you think a cars "ring" times, at the hands of a professional driver, indicate the thrill of owning and driving it, I think you may be cheating yourself out of some really rewarding car ownership opportunities.
Peace and love, peace and love.

What does the M3/M4 do in the quarter? Just need to race longer to put it on the trailer! If 0-60 is super important a 13+ GTR can do the trick in 2.7 sec, plus 0-100 in 6.9!

Re: BMW M3 no longer "on the trailer"

The new M3/M4 is very fast, I'm seeing numbers like high 11s @ 120. It's probably faster than the V2 at this point. I want the ATS-V to be the better, faster car but that's going to be hard to pull off, especially since, judging from the spy shots of the ATS-V, they were using the OLD M3 as a benchmark, not the new one.

Probably quite a bit underrated then HP wise! No way it's doing high 11's with just 420 HP!

BMW is notorious for vastly underrating their HP numbers. They claim the F10 M5 has 560 HP, but it's actually making closer to 630. They don't subject themselves to voluntary HP reporting standards like GM does, so they can get away with it. Weight is also part of it, the new M3/M4 are lighter than the previous M3.
