Got a "Wow" from the Wife yesterday

I want to preference this with the fact the Freeway was wide open and not congested with traffic at all.

We were headed out to dinner last evening. Got on the southbound 93/95 Freeway and once we got to 65, I pushed the throttle to the floor. The blower started to work after the 2 gear downshift and off we went. It couldn't have 5 seconds and I look down and we're slightly over the century mark. My Wife first said "Wow" and then said how smooth the acceleration was. She remembers back to when we first met and I had a 1967 Chevelle with a built 355 cu. in. small block chevy motor that was built pretty stout. Isky solid lifter cam, 461X heads that had been massaged a bit, headers, rock crusher Muncie 4 speedand a posi 3:73 rear. It was very fast but let you know about it, very loudly. This 2010 CTS V Sedan is simply amazing. The acceleration is so linear and smooth, as well as quiet. The speed sneaks up on you.

Couldn't be happier with it. We bought it a week ago Tuesday. Oh yeah, the mileage is about what the 67 Chevelle was too, but that's just fine.

Nice. I had a '67 Malibu myself. Loved that car. 283 with a glide that grew to a 461 (30 over 454) with a build 400 turbo and 12 bolt posi. Never should've sold that car.

My wife wasn't too crazy about the V coupe to begin with, especially the back seat access.During the test drive all that went away when she gave it about a 3 second stab of throttle. Her comment was "holy shit" Gotta love it.

My wife would have had a somewhat different reaction. Wanna trade? (wife, car, whatever.....)

6104696, you should have seen/heard her reaction the first time I ran thru the gears to 6800 rpm in that Chevelle when I first met her. Almost killed our relationship.

I can relate. The most powerful car I had when I was dating my now wife was 1970 Olds W30 442 with built dual gate hurst shifted tranny. She wasn't really into the car but thoroughly enjoyed the back seat. Subsequently I wreck that car striking a light post when I fell asleep at the wheel just 4 blocks from my home. I fondly think about that car when I plant my foot to the floor in the V.

    Very cool Mach2,

Being in Henderson will give you plenty of open space to let her loose!
