    Re: 2015 cts-v???

I was just at my dealer yesterday asking about the 2015 V. He said the factory rep was just in on Thursday, Dec 5th and told them the new V is fully designed and on the shelf ready to go but it WILL NOT be produced due to the new MPG standards for Cadillac with Obamas new CAFE standards. Only hope is if the new ELR happens to sell enough vehicles to change the equation on the CAFE standards. No ATS-V will be produced either. I was sort of in denial but he was addament. Gov't regulations are killing the the V series!. I left there feeling like I was punched in the stomach. I hoping to hear something different. I may have to drive my 2011 V sedan for like ten years

Never, ever rely upon dealers for information on cars not yet on dealer's lots.

This guy has ABSOLUTELY no clue what he is talking about. GM has been testing the new CTS-V, it is in no way "fully designed and on the shelf". The CTS is a very new car and there is no reason to think that a CTS-V would be available so soon. Just have a little patience, the new CTS-V is coming. I would expect it sometime next year...maybe as soon as next summer but most likely next fall.

They don't want you to wait. They want to sell you either a current V or a V-Sport.

I was just at Best Buy yesterday asking about Windows 9. They said the Microsoft rep was just in on Thursday, Dec 5th...

Dealers sell and service cars. They don't need to be told about future product. They'll get info on product when it's getting to be time to order inventory, a couple months before it starts rolling down the production line. Don't believe anything they tell you about future product, or the lack thereof, unless they can show you production/order info from GM that corroborates their story.

do not listen to dealer salespeople. Interestingly, I find the service people much better informed....but that is likely because THEY understand the differences between the performance models and the fleet cars.

Personally, I would be just fine with the V going away. Then, I'd own the last model production year of the highest HP car in the highest performance package Cadillac ever produced. That'd be sweet.

Oh stop it, you're making my 2012 coupe blush. Never mind it's crystal red.

My bet is that the next CTS-V will use a "dumbed down" version of the LT4 just in the same way the LSA was a weaksauce version of the engine in the ZR1.

In any case, this is a win/win for us because the next engine is going to be a beast and MUCH more fuel efficient.
Sorry but you are dreaming if you think a low compression FI motor is going to get "MUCH" better gas mileage

That is just clueless to even make such a claim

The only savings you will get is from cylinder deactivation that is on the C7, and that will really only help on highway type miles.

Damnit, I read this hoping to hear something new. I just can't imagine the next V will make the same leap as the V2 did from the V1. Is it wrong to own one of each?

Hearing how well the base Caddys are handling, with any sort of power bump, it will be a great leap...
