As for everything else he said, it's his usual crack induced nonsense.
This is a joke, right? Lived in Germany for 4 years and brought home a wife. Visit DE quite often and keep in close contact with friends and in-laws. You comment bears no resemblance to actual fact. Lower quality of life? SERIOUSLY? Have you ever heard of things like the Autobahn, Biergartens, and the Nordschliefe? Look I love and LITERALLY serve America, but no need to falsely tear down other countries to make the point that the OP is foolish. He's perfectly capable of doing that on his own.

Sorry, I mistakenly thought this thread was about correcting misconceptions. My bad. Didn't mean to ruin an otherwise truly helpful discussion.

I said that Cadillac and most north american manufacturers are lacking a bit at times with the Germans. But many Americans here like to call me a moron or a loser or whatever for speaking the truth and my mind. Fact is more people buy German cars high end cars than north american high end cars. Its also a fact that when an american manufacturer out does a German , then they respond with a counter offensive. Case in point is the new BMW M5. Yet when I mention my opinion onnthisni get reamed on by idiots and bringing up politics who bad mouth Canadians. The fact is the better counties to live in is not the USA. Its not Canada but most western European countries if you want to talk politics on this board. But having said that can the idiots who bad mouth me and anyone else not from this USA please start to talk about cadillacs.
You spelled Mayor wrong, unless that is how it is spelled in Canada.

Actually, my wife was LITERALLY serving our country for 14 months there. Her brother LITERALLY served our country there for two years as well after LITERALLY serving in Afghanistan. And her father LITERALLY served there for two years a long time ago. As for the quality of life, you mentioned great government achievements of a semi socialist country, the Autobahn under Hitler. That is not what I was referring to. I was referring what the general population can afford. The average person there has nothing compared to what we can afford here in America. They also don't have the opportunity. If your wife's family was the exception and not the rule, that doesn't change the facts. Funny thing is, she moved here instead of you moving there. Wonder why not the other way round?

Maybe he was confusing the mayor with John Mayer?

I lived in Germany for a few years and while I can't speak to personal finances, the quality of life there is not lacking. I also don't see how having or not having opportunities there differ from here in the US.

The level of ownership is no where near here in the states both in property (land/homes) and goods (nice cars, big screen tv's, etc.) and the opportunity it gain such wealth isn't there due to socialist levels of taxation.

Wow, your wife, brother, and father put together almost have as much overseas experience as me. My wife moved with me because for the last 15 years I've been on active duty and Uncle Sam decides where I live. But in all fairness, you did employ the Hitler Argument, so I guess you win the internets.

So you point out an accomplishment made by a genocidal maniac, a place to drink outdoors, and a racetrack. I bow to their higher quality of life. I really think you should retire there after you finish LITERALLY serving. Bragging about your service on veteran's day is about as pathetic as it comes.

You're right, much better to brag you wife, brother, and father's service.
There's a difference between bragging and establishing credibility. I entered the thread because I hate when people use non sequiters like the German car comments as an opportunity to foist their boring, often maliformed political opinion on the rest of us. But we've obviously reached the point of diminishing returns, so unless Taken decides to mount another personal attack, I'll leave it at that.

I only mentioned about my in laws to rebut. You're arrogance in using capital letters to spell 'literally" is what inspired me. No personal attack at all. Just confusing you with facts I guess. It amazes me that with your extensive experience there (I learned about that with more of your bragging) you learned less about the place than those who spent a fraction of your time there. Says something...

Capitalizing a word to add emphasis...THE HORROR!!!

Also, you're=you are. There you go again, confusing me with your airtight facts.

For the record, I have an enormous member. If I'm to be accused of bragging, I want to be sure I take full advantage.

Adding emphasis to something that has nothing to do with the conversation. Very important indeed. Oh the grammar game. Fun. Let's start with you spelling it Nordschliefe when it's Nordschleife. Don't feel bad, lots of people lived in the states their whole life and don't know much about how things work.

Oh Taken, you've bested me again! I've seen the error of my ways. Bragging, capitalizing, and misspelling; I'm a monster. GOODBYE CRUEL WORLD!!!
