    Motortrend artical "greatest drag race"

Found this artical and trying to figure out how the hell a V isnt in this! We run up there in "supercar" territory and it seems caddy V's get no respect. They put a stupid ass ford focus in there LMFAO. ....

This was part of the "Best Driver's Car" feature. They tend to use new or significantly changed models. The 2G CTS-V, believe it or not, is now in its fifth and final model year and so is "long in the tooth". So no surprise there. Don't worry, when the V3 hits, it'll for sure be featured. The GT-R is back because they tested the "track pack" version.

Seriously, a Focus? Couldn't they think of anything else? Anything??? Whatever.

I'm not sure I would want to see the V up against those new E63's. Better to wait for the new V.

That Focus is awesome. Not everyone has $60k for their performance car.

Given the lineup they chose I could've come up with something more evenly matched. I'm sure it's a great car for what it is but to me it had no business in there given its competitors.

+1 That is a nifty little car that handles great for a FWD 4-banger. I have more than once pondered purchasing one as a daily driver so I can get my fill of fun AND get 32 mpg, then still have my V wagon whenever I want.

Some of you guys are taking this way too seriously. As Angus Mackenzie said at the beginning of the video, they did the drag race "because we can". Good enough for me even if the conclusion of the ST's performance in the drag race was obvious.

I think they were just trying to illustrate the the differences in times coming over the line and how spread out the cars were. The V had they run one woulda been around a second behind the Merc e63amg AWD white wagon, those new ones are real bad ass, 0 to 60 in 3.5 seconds and quarter mile 11.7. The Merc beat out a lot of the other sports cars including the Viper. I noticed in the video they had a woman driving the Merc, they shoulda had her put groceries in the back hatch right before the run, that woulda been funny 3rd gen V better be good, it should at the least be awd with the new Vette motor with twin turbos.

    I guess someone can't drive the Viper, the last one a Mag tested did 3.2 0-60 and a 11.2 1/4! Motor Trend had a test against the ZR1 the Viper did a 3.4 0-60 and a 11.4 1/4 @ 128.7.......BTW the Viper did a 11.5 @ 128.7 and the E63 did 11.7 @ 120 in the Video!
