    engine cover?

Hi...not quite an owner, but may be placing the order this week if my current hot rod sells.

Anyway, I have a question about the engine cover(s)...it seems like they would trap heat?? I'm thinking the first thing I would do is take off whatever cover(s) I can under the hood...have any of you done that or recommend it or not?

    Thanks!
    Ron

It's not an engine cover. It's wall art for your garage.

Many have done it. Some haven't. It's all personal preference really. Don't expect any radical changes in temps though.

Mine hangs on my garage wall. It has been signed by Johnny O'Connell, Andy Pilgrim, Mario Andretti, and just 2 weeks ago by Jordan Taylor.

Many of my friends and i did remive the engine cover and also remove thr rubber line under the wiper.

I guess it helps cooling since none of my friends had problems with the engine plugs yet while orhers do

    Re: engine cover?

I'd assume that it helps create an airflow underneath the hood.

They look great, and maybe they are for the airflow for proper cooling? I'd leave em! It's definitely interesting when someone asks to see the engine, I pop the hood and they say "wow, uhh, never seen anything like that before, thats cool"

    LOL! I love this response!

I wonder if any caddy engineers read this forum, or could respond to this...is there any way these covers have a *function*, or are they just for looks? I just assumed they were only for looks - in which case they'll be "for looks" on my wall!

Remember how beautiful the aluminum LT5 in the 1st gen. ZR-1 was? It would be nice to return to that concept.

Mine are in my bedroom closet guarding
the skeletons to make sure that they
don't make any sudden moves to escape.
I do not want them out & about.

You betcha. That would be awesome. Even the Shelby engine and others look cool as hell. I thought even the old L98 TPI 350 looked awesome!
