so during a fill up i thought i just walk around the car and saw the hood had these paint chips. i put a credit card next to it and took a picture these are not big but the paint and clear coat is all gone. i do have touch up paint i bought. i have the black diamond triple coat.
Just feather and build up the paint thickness slowly. You can then polish afterwards to try and blend into the surrounding area. You'll always know they are there but at least they will be less visible and more protecting the body below.
I've had similar chips on other vehicles in the past, and also have some on the V. I've had good results in the past with applying a dab of touchup paint, then after it dries for a day gently wet sand the spot with 2000 grit to knock down the high spot, then hand polish with 3M Finess-it to get the gloss back and finish with hand glaze to blend it in. I should have my touchup paint this week and will see how silver comes out...
2012 V with 8k miles i do have a clear bra but this happened a little further up in the middle of the hood they are not big but i think i am going to try what PNBLWZD suggested other than wet sanding i am not sure i would be able to do it right.

Re: what to do with these paint chips?
Mine too, fortunately friend of mine has a quality body shop. Laughed and said serves you right for a black metallic car! He had the black paint into a small plastic lid, used a needle dipped in the paint to fill in the chip(s)-next day took car back and he used 3M and a claybar. Then used this really cool spray wash cleaner (Dunac?). You have to look really close and know where the chips were to see them.
