Re: Suddenly, a wild Vagon appeared!

I dropped the car off Thursday night and picked it up Friday afternoon.

The carpet still sags away from the transmission tunnel -- press your hand up against it and it feels like almost an inch -- but it's much better than before and no longer in the way of pedal work. It's good around the dead pedal, hope it lasts.

The microfiber shift knob feels good. The steering wheel still feels slippery, but I guess I'll get used to it.

I've noticed a couple more fit issues. The center speaker grille sticks up slightly on the left side. The plastic bit on the back of the left steering wheel spoke isn't flush. And the top of the rear bumper cover isn't flush. I don't know if they're the kinds of things that are easily fixed, but I guess I'll ask.

The thing I know isn't an easy fix is orange peel. I know it's just a fact of life especially with a dark nonmetallic but once it catches your eye it's insistent. Definitely worse than the Corvette, which I know isn't really fair. It almost makes me not want to bother protecting the paint and just sock away money for a high-class paint job, but I'm not really a show & shine guy anymore.

The carpet's already loose near the dead pedal. Can't say I'm surprised.
