Quick question about my clutch after service...

    Hey guys,

    Quick question...

Recently my vehicle was in for service to get a gasket swapped due to a oil leak (on the front crank shaft pulley). Apparently they had to remove the rad and some other stuff to put a belt back on. (3 hour job just to put the belt back on).

I'm noticing that since I got it back, the clutch pedal has been SUPER easy to press compared to how it was before. At first I thought one of the clutch return springs popped off. But I took a look and confirmed they are good, set, and haven't fallen out.

Any idea what may be causing this? I'll be checking the clutch fluid levels this morning before I head out for the day, but I'm thinking the level will probably be fine.

    Thnx in advance!

Usually after I do a large burnout in my other MT car, the clutch pedal will be soft indeed. It could be a lot of things, but my educated guess is either your clutch fluid is low, they did a burnout in your car (or someone didn't know how to drive it), or since you had dropped it off your clutch leg got a rest for a longer than normal time and it 'seems' easier but is actually the same. On the second point about a worn clutch, do you notice a change in the catch and release points in the pedal travel?

Clutch fluid is right at the minimum level right on the minimum line.

Catch and release points feel different (but that could be in my mind)... I highly doubt they abused it at the dealer. They treat me like gold, the staff are amazing (I have an AMAZING relationship with them), I'd actually bet money they didn't abuse it, as crazy as that sounds.

Maybe it is a rest with the leg. Noticing I'm getting sounds from the pedal. Maybe the pedal is going lol

It's actually been getting better and better since I got it back. Since they had to remove a bunch of stuff to put the belt on, I'm wondering if air got in to the clutch hydrolic line.
