    I use nav all the time, even when I don't have a destination set. Having a moving map display in an unfamiliar area is invaluable. I put up with the "bong"; it's probably there to wake up old farts like me.

    Is it a bong or a ding? A good bong might make a long trip more tolerable

    I set random locations off major highways as landmarks. I usually pick one that's relatively close to my destination to minimize the amount of dings. So annoying.
