way i think of it is any time a car gets sold, if it needs a $500 part, it's about $600-700 off the selling price, so always figure it best to have everything as good as i can. but if you're paying to have the work done vs. doing it yourself, that can change things too. good luck!
I was trying to get a pic of the bridgestone V in this tent at MotoGP Sunday, but those dang girls kept getting in the way. :yup: oh well, you can see what i was looking at, and God bless Texas!! What i didn't understand is why they put flares on the fenders, but no wider tires than factory on the car??
That looks exactly like my car but those dang girls are blocking my view!Quote:

But from what I can see in the shadows, those are some strange fender flares.
i know! i didn't want to ask them to move as i didn't want to follow in their dad's footsteps as another overbearing male in their life contributing to their esteem issues, so i suffered through it. but yes, those flares and still stock size tires, no sense.
last night i realized my handy 1-4 shift bypass i installed somehow prevented me from putting the car in reverse. jacked back up, removed it, plugged back in as original, and worked fine, even w/o being turned on, and now works fine again. have no idea why it'd prevent reverse, but whatever.
did get the calipers, rear hubs, and tailpipes blacked out, pic below. i couldn't see the extra several hundred bucks for red or yellow calipers when spray paint is way cheaper and i wanted black anyway. i first used a high temp BBQ grill paint, but it was so flat it looked old. So after that i put a couple coats of gloss finish on top to dress it up. Plastidip is next.
i tried the plastidip this week. you can get more details on that thread at http://www.cadillacforums.com/forums...ml#post3297830 . Due to technical difficulty and wanting to be able to drive it instead of look at it in the garage, i only plastidipped the wheel centers and the grill meshes. explanation on the other thread.
Here's a quick walkthrough on it. This is nothing new for anyone that has a v coupe, and is pre-black out on some of the parts, mods will be a different vid.
here's a picture of progress so far from my prototype shop on the new grill badge. will be a matching one for the trunk badge too. hopefully receive them, get them chromed and installed before the drive to CO at the end of June!
Discount Tire usually has their act together, but this time ordered non-locking black lugs instead of locking black lugs, so waiting another week or two for them to get that right.
got the black locking lug nuts last night and put them on. wheel area should be all done for now. I have an unopened locking factory set of lugs (1 per wheel) i ordered with the car i don't need. One forum member had already asked about them, but his inbox is full so can't get a hold of him. i think they were $115 as a factory option. if someone wants them for an even hundred or so including shipping to US location, lemme know.
Got an awesome deal through the V club. yesterday got rock star parking in Austin at the Australian V8 supercar race. they had a tent set up (thank fck for shade yesterday!), breakfast, lunch, snack, drinks (means a lot too when you're dealing with $14 burgers), paddock tour, got to meet one of the drivers, see the cars up close, awesome bunch of people and a helluva good time! Thanks to the Texas V club for arranging it. Here's a quick snap of all the pictures. if you want to see them bigger with comments, you can see them on fb https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?...4950753&type=3

it DID say that before i debadged it, that's the name of the local dealership. agree with the thought behind your comment though, but i guess technically it should've said "divorcte" in my case, haha.
dash o' this, dash o' that...
just got a pic from my prototype shop. front and rear badges are machined and on the way, then fit and off to chrome!
