    Do these work in the 2012 as well? I would assume so, but I just wanted to check.

    Yes, the Barracuda works on all years. I had the same on in my 10 as my 13.

    it's a shame these things cost upwards of $300.

    Makes me want to crack open the service manual and see if there's an easy way to fix it with a cut wire or resistor somewhere...

    Guess its a little more complicated now but the nav unit in my
    Silverado only involved cutting a white wire that went to the back of the nav unit which was a speed sensor wire that told the nav unit that the truck was moving.

    With the wire rerouted to a toggle switch I could flip the switch and disable the safety feature when ever I wanted or leave it active so that the nav unit could get speed input to help with accuracy.

    If anyone has an electrical schematic could you take a look and see if the same white wire is still there or what the speed input wire color is now.

    My old truck was a 2003 so I don't know if this will still work.
