I'm not convinced that this is actually the next V. I would very much doubt they would do a an FI V6 after competing so well against the E63 and the M5 this go around.

saw this too. Would be very disappointed if the LT1 did not make an appearance in the next gen V. Hopefully this is a lower model getting V type appearance packaging.

I'm certain that they would produce some kind of updated LSA or derivative. Has GM ever toyed with turbo-charging the small block?

Interesting pics. We'll know for sure in less than a year, I'm sure.

Maybe not on the V though.

What was the delay between the 2nd Gen CTS and the V2? A year?

There's no way either of these are the new V...

Look how boxy the front of those look... And I'm sure they would make the grill look cooler!

To me, the grill looks a lot like an evolution of the current CTS grill.

I don't think Caddy would go away from the mesh grill, since it's a bit of a trademark for Caddy sports models.

Exactly, CTS maybe, but no way these are V's!

Just got this in a newsletter from my dealer (CMP Automotive)

    http://blog.cmpauto.com/2012/12/is-t...hing-else.html

    Specifically:

Could be the ATS-V with grille components removed...

it seems to be the way. turbos and supercharged v6 that make about the same power and get better gas milage..
we were looking for a new v8 car and most have dropped v8 and gone with v6.. went to auto show and drove the cts-v and ended up getting one..(traded in a audi s4 v8)
even my woman dont like the sound of the v6 models compared to a v8..

Except for the twin turbo V8s in the E63 and the M5.

No way GM produces a DOHC twin turbo V6 for the V, that can produce 550+ hp.

Nissan GT-R makes 545hp. But I still don't think GM will do that. LS motor is bulletproof and cheaper. With cylinder deactivation, variable valve timing, etc. I think the V8 can improve on mileage to meet their goals.

I think the additional MPG will come from a better transmission, the engine tech mentioned, and a big diet.
