    Tire issue? Need help!

Just noticed a few days ago that when its cold and the tires are cold, backing up at slow speed with the steering wheel turned (left or right) it seems like the front tires are making noise like they're skipping. I live in pa, so it's been cold here, and it never did it in the spring or summer. Any ideas what could be causing it? I checked the tire pressure from the dash and all the tires are same pressure except front drivers side has 5 psi more air in it compared to the other 3. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks
    Ron

Same thing happening to me. There are multiple other threads on this issue. Not a real problem, just annoying. This happens when the temps go down below 45F or so. Once the tires warm up, problem goes away.

    Re: Tire issue? Need help!

Multiple, multiple threads on this issue, which has been reported for the entire life of this gen of the CTS-V.

This is normal behavior for this tire in this application.

The site search here is not optimal, so Google "CTS-V tire skip" and you'll find the threads on this explaining in more detail.

    HTH!

I have noticed this too. I just thought it was the tire compound. The soft rubber hardening up in the cold air. Am I wrong?

I think it's got more to so with the way the sidewalls interact with the pavement in reverse. IIRC, there have been some people running different tires that said that cleared it up. Not sure though.

It's the PS2s... After I switched to another tire, it went away and has not returned after 5000+ miles

Funny how when you think something is a problem, it feels all-consuming. When you find out its not, it fades out of mind.

    Enjoy your V!
