As for it idling for hours, does your Onstar app list engine hours? You could check that. Mine does for my GMC truck.

If someone siphoned out the gas, surely someone would have noticed, right?

The only explanation is that it was left idling for a couple of hours, on maybe a couple of occasions to see if getting really hot causes noises/codes...

Great to hear that everything's in tip-top shape, Xaqtly! The fuel mystery is puzzling - if it is something that you had wanted for us to document at all be sure to let us know.

You would think, but the service manager didn't have an explanation one way or the other. The onstar app doesn't appear to track engine hours for me.

Yeah that seems to be the only reasonable explanation at this time, but they didn't seem to think it had been idled like that either. But I agree, it's the only thing that makes sense other than somebody siphoning gas out.

The good news is everything seems to be in good shape now. The rear is much quieter, it was actually making something like 4 different distinct noises, and they're all gone now. Taking a road trip in January, should be nice.

I called to make an appointment, my Service Advisor said there is nothing that can be done at this time. When it is time for my first service (I am at 1600 miles and 79% oil life), we could see if there is any resolution available..So I guess I will be sitting on my thumbs!

X...nice posts...this is my 2nd V (coupe) - had 09 v sedan. I love these cars so much that I plan on modding this one and basically killing the powertrain warranty. About the rear-end noise. I get a binding sound at the left rear wheel ONLY WHEN COLD and only when turning left. I was wondering if you experienced same. The noise never happens when tech drives it. I've escalated to corporate. My V sedan did the same thing and they changed the hub bearing - which fixed the problem....thanks

I never had the problem you're describing; the only grinding noises I heard were from the rear, but it sounded like both sides, and it was only at speed. The diff replacement fixed it for me, that sound is gone now.

good to hear they took care of all your issues..
i would have to say that when they did your rear diff they took off the fuel lines and drained or lost some gas..
