    New to me V

Just took delivery of my 2012 V Coupe. Car is used with 870 miles on it. Looking thru the dealerships paperwork (Thompson VW Porshe Audi) I noticed a copy of a service order. It looks like they changed the oil when they brought the car in. Says qty (60) FP Number G-052-530-S0 Castrol 5W. Looks like they put the wrong oil in the car.
Is this something I should be concerned about? The local stealership said I shouldn't drive the car but I had already put 100 miles on it before I dug thru the paperwork.
Please share your thoughts... They did not reset the oil life as it is at 85%.

I know absolutely NOTHING about vehicles... But I would say either swap the oil yourself, or get it to a dealer to get the right stuff put in...

And if it was me (because I'm neurotic), I'd baby the car after putting in the right oil, until the oil change after (2nd with right oil)...

I wouldn't fret too much. Take it back and have them put the right stuff in along with a new filter. If somewhere down the road you run into an engine mechanical problem you've got documentation that the dealer put the wrong oil in it. I seriously doubt that you will have any problem at all.

I'm trying to look up that part number. It seems like it's 5W 30. What's the problem?

GRenne, I'm in line with Dogbreath and Zhariak's thinking -- discussing your concerns with your dealership is a great next step. If you have any lingering confusion, don't hesitate to contact me and I can then call your dealer for you, if you like. Email me anytime at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com for further assistance!

Coincidently got a free oil change coupon from Lund Cadillac in Phoenix! Took the car to them and they took great care of me... Big thumbs up for Lund!
