    Chrome rear door lock knobs, can't grab them with a coat hanger

    Just kidding, did a search, no results. I don't know why they're there. Can any one enlighten me?

    My guess is that they're cheaper than the mechanism used for the fronts. I think base CTSs have them for all 4 doors.

    The 2013 CTS-V Coupe has no door lock posts sticking up. The CTS-V Sedan has them, as the entry to this post says, on the rear doors only. Now, as for reasons - this is just a guess - since the posts are long enough to get your fingers on them in the locked or unlocked state, I would assume that if all the lock/unlock switches fail at the same time, and you were in the car, then you would be able to lock/unlock the rear door manually. What are the odds of meeting all these requirements simultaneously?

    I'm betting it's some Federal safety thing. They're probably required so someone can't get locked in the backseat and not be able to let themselves out...
