leak at transmission seal at driveshaft

Anyone ever experience a leak at the seal between the rear of transmission and driveshaft? Mines leaking pretty good. Hoping it is just a bad seal and that it was nothing else that caused the leak. (Auto trans with 56k miles, trans has been tuned).

That was pretty common on my 08 Yukon Denali but not heard of it on a V. The seal replacement should be pretty simple so long as the bushing inside isn't worn. Seal should be about $30 and 1 minute to remove/install once you pull the driveshaft.

Double check with your service adviser as there was a service bulletin about that a while back. There is a small retainer nut that is inside the tailshaft that would need to be serviced.

    Thank you,

I did a search and could not find the related TSB. Anyone else find it? Car goes into shop/dealer, who said it is covered under the powertrain warranty.

4DoorV, I apologize, but I don't have much in the way of TSB information (I am happy to check for open recalls, however). If you would like me to follow up with your dealer on your behalf at any point or would like me to investigate any of your questions further, please don't hesitate to email me at Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com.

    Best,

Turns out it looks like it is blowing tranny fluid out the vent tube near the rear of transmission. Any thoughts on why and what needs to be done?

Overfilled? I just changed my trans fluid and filter and what a PITA it was to check the fluid level. If overfull, I could see it puking out the vent. If you want to check the level, get the trans up to temp (130) and pull the plug on the bottom of the trans pan WHILE ENGINE RUNNING IN PARK. If any comes out, it was overfull. To fill, you have to put some in, fire it up to temp and then add fluid without burning the sh$t out of your hand on the scorching hot headers until the fluid runs out the overflow. Oh yeah, the filler is above the trans pan about six inched to the left of the passenger header Still recovering from the nice burn on the back of my wrist And I did it on a lift!

The fluid is still the original fluid and only the level has been checked once by my tuner about 2 months ago. No fluid was added or changed. Was fine until about a week ago were it seems to be coming out more regularly and visible smoke coming out wheel wells due to the fluid spilling onto cats (just below were driveshaft connects to trans). Chevy dealer didnt know what to do and recommended I take it to Caddy dealer. Thoughts anyone?
