Sore butt from Recarro seats solution help

Before I start, please don't flame me for having a sensative tail end. The Recarros seemed to be nice when I first got the car but no are a "pain in the ass". Some people may love the seats but personally I need more cushion.

Has anyone tried some type of a bottom seat cushion on these seats to make them more comfortable? Im hoping somebody has come up with a good solution.

Must say I have had both the standard seats and the Recaros. Recaros are hands down the better seats IMO. I have had no problems at all regarding discomfort.

Just my two cents, and I realize others have different experiences.

talk about getting "butt hurt" lol... ok wow that was bad... but no really, I know a lot of people love the recaros (myself included) but not that odd that some people might have issues with it.

anyway I guess you could always try a cheap cushion pad to see if that helps.

I love my recaros....BUTT.....I sat in WD2009's car with regular seat and I like them much better! Having converted over from an SRT8 I'm having trouble finding a comfortable seating position in the Recaros, plus not hitting my knees on the dash, and not having my hands hit my legs when I saw the steering wheel. Love the power and handling, but a much tighter car space wise than I'm use to.

For the record, not obese or crazy big at 6' 220 pounds.

I love my recaro's. with 14 adjustments I don't know how you can't find one that works. Except for softness, which isnt an issue for me. Perhaps my kids are right.. maybe i am a hard ass. The longest I drive my V was an hour and I was happy.

I love the Recaros in my '13 V sedan and I have a sensitive ass.Seats in my '09 CTS were really bad with inadequate leg support.Try the Wondergel seat cushion or the Tush Cush.Good luck!

My 6'3" 255 lard ass loves them better than the Kraut E34 sport seats.

If you open up the the side bolsters on the seat cushion (not the backrest) all the way to the widest setting, the overall effect is a softer sitting area (for me anyway). Give that a try. The Recaros are simply amazing!

    Best regards,

    Elie

Re: Sore butt from Recarro seats solution help

I actually returned my first CTS-V to the dealership within two days because of the lack of comfort in the Recaros. They are fine for short drive but on longer ones the seat bottom bolsters cut into my quads. They ordered me the same car but without the Recaros, 1000x better. Granted they don't look as nice as the Recaros or have as much adjustment, or keep you in the seat as well around turns....buuuut they are more comfortable. In the end that was more important.

Re: Sore butt from Recarro seats solution help

I am not as picky as most. Just did a 1000mi road trip and loved the car and seats.

I find full scope out of the column really helps also playing with the level of the seat to put more or less on the legs helps alot. Also being a racer for the last few years I find my self closer to the the wheel. Going back to my layed back high school days ware my head is in the back window made it supper nice also.

    Bubba,

I think you could have given it more than 2 days to decide. With 14 adjustments it takes a while to get the seats dialed in properly.

I, like you, tried the Recaros and could not get comfortable in them. I bought a sedan with the base seats and couldn't be happier. I believe that bigger (heavier) people have less issues with them then skinnier folks. I'm 5'9" and 150 pounds. My skinny white butt just didn't appreciate the Recaros.

I agree with pat2t2f, you have to give them some time and continue to adjust them until you find the perfect settings. At first I thought they were uncomfortable and hard. But once I got some use out of them and dialed them in, they are extremely comfortable and nicely contour to your body. I am 5'10" and 194 lbs and they fit me perfectly. Give them some time and adjust them every time something is bothering and you will find the optimum setting.

I'm 300 lbs and 6'3" and have no issues with the Recaros. Have taken it on multiple trips to upstate NY (Over 250 miles one way) and no comfort issues. I have sat in the regular seats and they feel too much like a sofa cushion to me. To each his own though.
