Wagon is dead? No CTS wagon after 2013?

Keep seeing some early reports saying the CTS wagon will be no-more after the current model year runs out.
    Can anyone confirm that?

That is the rumor, although it has not been confirmed by GM yet

Altoon, I apologize for any inconvenience this causes but I checked my resources this morning and unfortunately do not have any illuminating information regarding any future wagon plans. Please don't hesitate to check in with me anytime via email (Katie_Lucille@gmexpert.com), however, and I would be happy to check my resources again for updates in the near future.

And please stay tuned to our Cadillac News site for all the latest information!

Rumor probably has some teeth to it.

    I saw this:
    http://www.autoevolution.com/news/di...xed-52268.html

    and this:
    http://gmauthority.com/blog/2012/11/...xt-generation/

I figured the GM Authority site was probably a good source.

@Katie - please do tell when you hear something. Thanks for checking on it.

Found this link from one of the articles you posted "the wagon that never was" this was before they decieded to go with the current CTS wagon design. I almost like this one better. Looks more like the STS. Interesting. http://rumors.automobilemag.com/the-...#axzz2DpOyLdID

Thanks for the link. Our wagon is clearly better-looking. The one you linked to looks more like a last gen SRX.

We need the Wagon, the Sedan and the Coupe, in the "V" versions, of course. The pinnacle of American performance in luxury and performance cars.

Ya, a combination between a Audi all road and a SRX I guess. Ya, ours does look more sporty, that car that never was looks more like a family car.

Re: Wagon is dead? No CTS wagon after 2013?

I have heard rumors that the CTS-V is also gone after the 2013 model year. As with your case, I have not received any confimation of this from GM or other readers of this forum. With the ATS, I can see no reason to keep the CTS in general. The high-HP engine in the CTS-V is a rather dated design (a V-8 whose only claim to fame is the blower). I would be interested in any thoughts that deny these rumors.

I can't see Cadillac not providing competition for the M5. That's what the CTS-V does. The ATS-V will compete with the M3. If the M5 disappears or becomes irrelevant, that might happen. The LSx engines are legendary. Take off the supercharger on the LSA and put on proper high compression pistons, and it would still be a winner.

I can see any car manufacturer being only concerned with the money. If a particular model is not making enough money it is gone. Cadillac cares not a bit about the BMW M5.

I can't agree with that. GM built the CTS-V wagon largely as a marketing exercise. Getting cars on the front page of magazines is worth it.

Don't agree. See if anyone cares. No money, no time. Front page? Not worth a dime. A waste of time and money.
