Ah nice to see another V Owner in Torrance. Don't see many around here. Where do you take your V in for service? Boulevard or Penske?

Incorrect. It depends in how it's used. Mine was never titled but was a demo. The warranty was started before I bought it...

Buy the AMG - at least the dealers and techs will take care of you. They also know and understand the needs of the car better then the Bozo's at GM dealers who don't have a clue, OK 9 out of 10 of them anyway!

    That is a funny statement!
You actually own 2 great cars!

I will try to test drive a Black Raven one with 16k to see how the car feels with some mileage on it.

    Both are great vehicles!

haha that's probably close to me. I'm in Old Torrance near Crenshaw. Any issues from Penske in terms of maintenance and service?

That is the only thing that has concerned me since I bought the car. I love the dealership and they take great care of me service/ price wise but there is no special technical training for these techs, at least at this dealership. I bought mine in '09 and had the only in town. Since then they have sold 2 more local ones so they are not used to working on them. I had to tell 2 SA's and 1 mechanic that I don't need my tires rotated, wtf? They are used to working on 3.6L CTS sedans and DTS's. I have not needed any major work just regular maintenance and some recall work done. I do ask to have the same tech do the work so at least he is familiar.

Im in old Torrance off of Beech. Penske has been good except when they washed my car after telling them not to.

I came from a C63. Great car. But the V drives so much better. C63 was a really harsh and noisy ride. I would only consider an E63 if I switched back, but only the 2012 with performance package.

I saw the 'new' 2011 at Penske last week. I told them its too much money when you can get a '12 for very low $60's.

2 Years at the dealership means they drove it hard and probably let the customers drive the car as well. I would not buy that car. I bought my 12 for 62k. I would try to find a 2012 the faster shifting is alone worth the money but it looks like you will be able to find the 2012 under your budget widen your search

Re: New 2011 CTS-V General Opinion

    UPDATE
    Today test drove a 2013 Jeep SRT8, a 2011 CTSV A6 Raven and saw a 2012 CTS-V Raven A6 fully loaded with yellow calipers.
I was not fully sold on the Jeep (expected more performance) and the used Caddy was kept horribly.
Long story short I am really close to sealing a deal on a brand new 2012.
The only worry that I have is the Raven paint......

Re: New 2011 CTS-V General Opinion

Just a thought - maybe the V was sitting in the showroom as eye candy? Perhaps the owner drove it from time to time, maybe took a few clients on some test drives... it could be that it was difficult to get a V in stock, so they wanted to have one on hand. I remember when I was looking at an Audi S5, it was a minimum of 3 months out to get a hold of one, and the dealer wouldn't let the one they had in the showroom go.
