Remote Start - Am I missing something?

Why can I remote start my V with the OnStar app, but not with the key fob? Obviously the car is set up to allow remote start - so do they just leave the fob start disabled unless you pony up for the "option"?

Lock car first then hold the start start button (circle thingy) for a couple seconds.

Fob should work fine albeit with it's limited range. One of the prime reasons I use the Onstar remote start because I can't start my car from my office and I am lazy

I have to press the key fob "lock" buttom twice, then remote start works.

Never had a problem with this. Press lock. Press and hold start for a few seconds. Works every time and at a pretty good distance.

Press and hold did the trick - I had read in a few places to double-click it, and that obviously wasn't working for me. Thanks all!
