    Re: October Texas Mile

Other Caddy racers at the event:

We had a large contingent of Cadillacs present:

Mark (the guy who rented the Caddy Shack and my host for the weekend) had over 700HP:

Marks buddy Jason driving his wife's car.

The only first gen CTS-V on the grid had twin turbo and meth injection.(176.5MPH)

The fastest CTS-V on the track - Texas Conda with a final run at 192.6:

The other 192MPH CTS-V was a flat black (vinyl wrap) coupe. I wish I'd have gotten some pics up close. Satin696 had one of the most impressive cars at the show.

The only CTS-V Wagon racing got one run cause he arrived late on Saturday and had to wait for the noon drivers meeting. His first run was a licensing run where he said he got to over 160, but backed it down to 150 at the mile. There was not enough time for him to make a second run on his one day entry so he's coming back in the Spring for all three days.

A few other contestants over 180MPH:

Snake Bit Super Chilled Black Raven 2006 Cadillac XLR-V aka Elwood (Jake's brother)
    Verified 501rwhp and 486TQ at 6000RPM so far...final goal 575/550

ELWOOD - "Corvette in a Tuxedo ... with a Jet Pack"

2013 St Louis Region SCCA Solo SSM Class Champion
Texas Mile Record Holder: Street Legal XLR @ 159.5MPH
ECTA LSR Record Holder: 4.2-5.0L Blown Gas Modified Sports Car

    Re: October Texas Mile

The Jake corvette was a couple rows away from Steve and I on Saturday.

Interestingly enough the above car and I were both in tech together so I had to take a few "Jake and Elwood" pics:

There were two other Land Speed Racing (LSR) crews that I met also at the Ohio Mile. These guys are serious about LSR and have taken that extra step to improve Aerodynamics. Notice the front air dam and the missing side mirrors.

This guy had a twin turbo 5.0 with nitrous:

The other ECTA LSR car you can tell was purpose-built, all motor, Small Block - his best this weekend was 179.5.

Lots of Vettes showed up for Sunday. Lots of Mustangs all weekend. Of course the fastest bikes were the Hayabusas. The worlds fastest woman was on one. Jennifer Robertson poses with the board. 243.6 mph makes her the fastest woman in the world through the standing mile on a bike.

The fastest Shelby. Congratulations to Van Collier of Revan Racing, Inc. on setting a new record for the fastest Ford Mustang into the world with a speed of 220.8mph in a 2007 Shelby GT500 Super Snake Convertible (w/ a removable hardtop)!

The fastest Camaro 263.2MPH (.1 MPH below the track record set by the Hennesey Ford GT)

Fastest Viper, poor guy couldn't keep the car pointed down the track. Every time he shifted gears the back end got away from him. Best time for the weekend was 205.8MPH.

Fastest BMW. 223mph turbo bricK aka BMW e36:

Did I mention, the worlds fastest street legal XLR-V in the standing mile was Elwood. (let's see if D3 shows up next time Sorry couldn't resist it. Got the Race Director to sign off my log book to document the record. Paperwork will be forwarded to ECTA and SCTA for certification and the world records updated.
Snake Bit Super Chilled Black Raven 2006 Cadillac XLR-V aka Elwood (Jake's brother)

Hmmm, when is the next one? We got a couple of prepared XLR-V widebodies that might want to go play.

Sometime in March 2013. They usually announce dates in January.

I've tried to contact you guys twice about sponsoring my car in LSR, but never heard back. Now that it's the off season, I may try again. Although all I need now is headers, I guess I could force myself to carry the D3 colors.

Hey if you do end up heading out here in March will you be shipping the cars out?

Hmm we will have to see if we can fit that into our 2013 racing schedule. We will keep an eye out for an announcement on this.

As for your car. Shoot us an email or better yet give us a call. We can see what we can do for you on the headers. Remember the d3 colors will give you a few more ponies!

    Hello,

Yes we would transport the vehicles if we come out. Since we don't have any drag strips maybe we can setup our drag car to come play.

Cool, so if I buy a hood from Greg you can just toss it on the truck with the cars
