I've driven in my share of rain and parked in a humid garage but this is the first time I've seen this happen. Am I developing a sealing problem or no big deal? Sorry this is such a tight shot but image limitations mean I had to crop it a lot.

I've seen moisture in mine. Many have. But I can't decipher that picture, sorry...

Yeah, sorry it's tight. It's the close up of the passenger side headlight beam housing I'll try a repost from home with a better shot but if you've seen it in yours it sits better with me. I've just never noticed it.

Mine has fogged up slightly on rare occasions during highly humid conditions, but never had drops of water inside like your's appear to have. Was this due to rain, or being washed, etc. ... ?

I apologize guys. This shot had to be cropped so bad to fit for upload from my phone it's almost useless. The drops are actually on the outside. It's the "fog" that's on the inside.

Re: Headlight sealing problem or no big deal?

The CTS has fogging issues. some condensation is normal (even though on every other luxury car it's not..)

if the condensation is extending into the part of the lense where the projector is facing though, that is abnormal and it should be replaced.

any moisture at all is ridiclious in a vehicle like this though. Evenutally it's going to stain the inside of the lense. That'll look great on my 70K car.
    tyvm GM.

basicly as long as the condenstation isn't bad enough that it'll start distorting the headlamp light, it's normal. Once it is interferring though, that's a saftey problem. Time to replace.

Thank you. This just so happened during this lovely tropical storm over the last day or so. The car was warm, the garage hot, and I think the combination of the two made it so humid it just happened. It cleared right up in about two hours but I'll certainly watch it going forward. Thanks.

    Hi new to the forum!

I was looking up some info on this topic. Here is a V i may potentially buy but have a look at the headlights.

Looks like the haze is in that no-no zone!

Is this something GM replaces under warranty?

My truck is the same way as the picture above (2012 Colorado) and three dealers have refused to do anything about it and tell me it's normal. Apparently at least in my truck there is a vent, not sure how hard it is to clear that and maybe that would take care of the problem?

i would ask them to replace the headlamp.

As I said, fog inside of the headlamp will now distort the projector beam.

If they refuse, call customer service, this is a 'safety problem' leading toward reduced visibility.

or just buy the car. That looks like a Blue Diamond Tricoat.

    Very rare color.

I'd be willing to bet it'll go away. Go look at it again another day and see if it's gone. Or fire up the headlights and see what happens.

Re: Headlight sealing problem or no big deal?

Just got back from washing the V and saw some light seepage of water around the seal of headlights. Then came on here and saw this thread. My car is less than a year old with 5k on the ticker. To me its unacceptable. Going in to the dealer to have them replaced.

They may show you the written policy by GM that there has to be standing water in the headlights, at least that's what they told me with my truck. Never seen standing water in the headlights, just vapor after it rains.
