More pics of my crashed V with hood open/front bumper off...

Here are some updated pics that I just took today. Body shop removed the left side headlamp and entire front bumper and both upper and lower grilles. Upon closer inspection, it appears that the force of the impact pushed the upper grille hard enough causing damage to the power steering cooler and the A/C condenser. Looks like that was the exent of the damage under the hood. Radiator looks fine and so does the supercharger intercooler. I still can't believe how much damage happened in how slow I was going when I made impact. My luck, I guess.

    Oof.

At least you have the peace of mind that there will be no long term issues with frame damage or anything...

Yes, sir! Body shop said the same thing. There wasn't any frame damage at all, just a lot of cosmetic and some mechanical cooling damage. I thought that repairing a CTS-V would have been cheaper than almost $13K though. Aren't American cars, most specifically GM vehicles supposed to be cheap to fix?

Don't forget to ask for that diminished value check from the insurance company.

Sorry to see the damage on your car.

It's a lease. How can I claim that?

Do they know it's a lease? Oh, and ask nicely with a smile...

Of course they know it's a lease. When you insure a car, they ask and make sure you have coverage to protect a car that you will never own. You basically have to insure it enough to protect the bank's car in case of a total loss.

Why do I get the feeling you're down at the shop sleeping next to it every night?

They'll know when they report the VIN to ISO and see it's title isn't in their insured's name.

He has no diminution claim there. There's not a lot of damage, and he is leasing the vehicle.

That doesn't mean I wouldn't ask, there's no harm in that, but diminution is hard to prove when you're planning on turning the car in and the leasing company doesn't care, and there's honestly not a lot of lost value there. Some insurance companies won't even consider it until there's frame damage or it exceeded certain percentages of the value of the car.

M5eater said exactly what I was thinking. Almost $13K in damage which is merely cosmetic with no major damage to the car or frame, etc.
