Probably gonna make a bunch of people mad but..... just appearence wise of the Ford " motor " only.... man that motor looks awesome. The V and the zl1 look so plane. All the plastice covers, you pull them off and its just not pretty. Thats all I am saying. I love the LSA. Best GM motor I have ever had. Man you pop the hood of that ford and that is just car motor "porn"!!!!!!

True; I had a Viper and its exhaust note was not unlike that of a UPS truck. Even guys in our local meets tried every exhaust setup and the V10 simply does not want to appeal to the ears.

would I sound like a whinny a-hole if I complained that my $70K super-pony had single-piston rear calipers but 15" 6pot brembos in the front?

Re: First Test of 2013 Shelby Cobra

I applaud Ford for this car....let's face it if you are driving your V and this Cobra pulls up next to you the best thing to do is yield and not hit the horn (stock for stock).

Someone mentioned earlier the reason why I LOVE what Ford does with the Cobra is that it comes with so much power and a warranty. I thought they would lose thier shirt when I bought my '03 Cobra but it turns out the motors are so well engineered that they didn't.

For those wondering why GM would not want to up the ante...well let's just say I would take the 4.6L blown V8 in my '03 Cobra any day of the week over the V2 motor. It's fundamentally a better engineered and built motor with DOHC and all forged internals. I know lots of guys pushing 800-900hp to the wheels with the stock 4.6L windsor motor. I would never do that with the LSA despite the huge displacement advantage.

The only thing I would be nervous about if I were Ford is that they are not using exclusively aluminum blocks. With that type of power I don't mind the extra weight of an iron block as it can't hurt for logevity.

    Just my thoughts...
