    Just installed Airaid CAI

Hey guys just installed the airaid and wow what a difference in sound and induction. I have one concern though about driving in heavy rain or going through a car wash. Do I have to worry about any hydrolocking or anything to do with driving in the rain?

    Thanks in advance.

Since the elevation of the Airaid is roughly the same as the stock filter, there shouldn't be any issues.

I won't say it's a big difference, but the power and throttle response seems to come on a lot stronger, That plus the increased supercharger whine and corsa sport exhaust make the car so enjoyable. I ran into a gsxr 750 that kept egging me on, so we did a short roll from 40-90 and we were neck and neck the whole time. After we had a chance to talk and his exact words were "Whatchu got in that thing a v12 v10?, That things got balls I gave it everything I got" But anymore than that and he would have pulled bus lenghts on me im sure of it.

Nice post. I actually ordered my airaid setup about 2 months ago and just installed it yesterday. Installation took less than a half an hour with half of that being done on the work bench to assemble the parts before putting it in the car. Didnt have a chance to take it out for a blast yet but the supercharger whine alone is worth it for me. Should see a small hp gain which will go well with my future mods. Highly recommend the kit. I put in a best offer for mine on eBay at $300 brand new with free shipping and they accepted.

One nice thing about the Airaid is the drop in intake temps compared to stock. My Scangauge shows only a 3-5 degree difference in temps for the Airaid over ambient compared to the 15-25 degree increase with the stock air box.

I have had mine sitting in garage for several months and finally got around to installing it today. HP gains may be minimal but I agree that the whine is worth every penny...though I am finding that my next purchase will likely be rear tires :-)

Funny you say that. I have a brand new set of ps2's on the rear of my car now and don't want to burn them up. Trying to find a set of factory rear wheels to mount some drag radials to. No luck yet but thats the next step before my 2.55 upper pulley and tune.

Any issues with codes or dealer warranty?

Got a chance to take the car out for a little run yesterday with the CAI installed. Definately feel improved (smoother) throttle response, and the blower whine at higher rpm under load is awesome. No codes. As fa as warranty goes, it's gonna be hit or miss depending on who you go to and whether or not they are in a good mood that day..lol

The policy must vary from dealer to dealer. Mine told me that intakes and exhausts were fine, just don't "violate" the computer. Also, unless they can prove that the intake or exhaust caused a problem, they cannot deny warranty service.

I have an Airaid and checked with my dealer prior to installing it. Their only issue was that with some CAIs (that use the oiled filters), they were seeing issues resulting from a buildup of oil on the MAF and in such cases, would not honour any related warranty claims. So, I bought mine with the dry filter, so that worry is gone.

I used an oiled in my Z71 Tahoe which netted in a new tranny @ 41k due to MAF sending incorrect data to the trans...or so some thought. When I ordered the CAI for my V I made certain to go with the dry filter for piece-of-mind.
