    How much should a dealer charge to Certify a V?

    Looking at 2010, one owner. It is not certified and I inquired with the dealer about getting it Certified, to extend the warranty through the 2016. They want $1500 and I wasn't sure if the was on par or a bit high. Let me know what you guys think.

    eh... if it is still under manufacture warranty save that $1500 and go online and buy a gmpp extended plan for that $. then you'll get 5 yrs and 60,000 miles of protection.

    totally worth 1500 in my opinion. I had it on my 07 v1 and used the crap out of it. I have it on my 2010 as well.

    It depends on how long you plan to keep the car. If you are going to sell it by 2016 then $1500 doesn't sound too bad for 2 years extra coverage. If you intend to keep the car longer than that I would get a GMPP extended warranty.

    I'm not sure how long I will keep the car. Who can quote me good prices on a GMPP warranty? Online or dealers only? I'd like to weigh out my options.

    from what I've been told that price seems to be almost as low as possible for a CPO

    in other words it's a great deal

    Thanks for everyone input and Smackdown-thanks for the link, but being it's a different model, and 3 years later, the $1500 does't sound like a crazy markup. Of course we will negotiate the price of it or the price on the car and hopefully come out feeling like I got a deal. Time will tell.

    Actually, I found more on here saying it's $1000. And model doesn't matter, the certification is all the same. I just checked a Cadillac dealer and are stating it's $1200 as well on the V. I'd give them $1000 cash for the certification, but that's me. Depending on the price of the 2010 you're looking at, the dealer is making enough, they don't need another $500.

    Thank you. I'm still have not went to go psychically look at this car just yet, but have discussed with dealer over the phone. I will definetly negotiate the CPO price, as well as my trade, and price of the car.
