Actually, I am. Its a piece of cake in this car. I can take the 10 to PCH to Kanan but it actually takes longer.

I would daily drive a manual V anywhere, including San Francisco.

Re: So i bought an automatic

It's not the hills (San Fran) that concerns me as much the traffic of where I live. I am in amongst the worst parts of SoCal for traffic (West Side), and, let me tell you, with the construction projects in and around Sunset Blvd and 405, it's a nightmare.

It takes us 30-40 minutes to get home from my kids' school, a distance of 4 miles. Most of that is the 2 mile stretch of Sunset Blvd. If I take the normal route, it's mostly stop and stop up a grade, so my feeling is the clutch is going to wear awfully quick, as will my left leg and patience.

Now, if I don't buy a V soon, but wait 18 months (I hope not), then it may not be my DD, in which case I will only have to deal with the various freeway nightmares.

I cannot fathom you making the Sepulveda pass journey up the grade anywhere from 7AM-10AM weekdays, on a daily basis.

First V I drove was a stick and I loved it! Bought an automatic. the auto is quicker and a stick will kill you on trade in (sorry stick guys). But my wife would have killed me sooner if I bought the stick.

For those that are considering an automatic because of traffic, tired of shifting, etc., at least test drive the manual version. It really is a nice setup and easy to drive, and your passengers will think you have an automatic because the manual is so smooth.

The V2 probally has the best resale value of all the super sedan's in the world. I haven't noticed manual depreciation compared to automatic, but whatever it is has to still be 'good'

I come from Agoura to Beverly Hills daily at 5:30 AM.

This manual is a lot easier to drive than my old 540 manual.
