I don't understand why you just don't DD it. I do my best to DD my F430 at 8K per year. My CTS-V Coupe has 5K in 5 months and I know I will put 5-8K on my new Z06 Z07 this year. Cars are only fun when driven. If I want art, I hang it on the wall.......just my 2 worthless cents........Steve

Thanks everyone for these great replies everyone actually made a lot I sense. I do agree I should definitely use the car more for those of you who suggested that. I also do agree autos have some advantages I do also agree that if I want a manual I might not ever be happy with this car. To clarify one thing I'm not In any way unhappy with the performance of the auto so that not the issue. It just more about the fun of a stick. So Anyway this is what I'm thinking.. Use the car a lot more and now that spring is on the way I think I will, by using it more I think I'll see the benefits of the auto. I will keep all posted. Thanks again

all I know is, GM's 6L80 and 6L90E's have made a slower driver out of me.

[QUOTE=Xaqtly;2879376]At the same time, if you want a manual you want a manual. It's a preference thing, not really a performance thing. For me, I don't care how well the auto performs, I don't want one. Autos make me a lazier driver, they disengage me from the driving experience. I don't like that.QUOTE]

I feel the exact same way

Since the automatic and the manual have the exact same engine, and VERY close gear ratios, i'm going to step out on a limb here and say that the auto has just as much 'low end torque' than the manual.

OP - If you think you're going to lose $12k just to get a manual, as some have suggested, take $10k of that, invest it in mods that will put you at an easy 750+rwhp, and the remaining $2k you keep in your pocket. Guarantee you you won't miss that manual one bit.

Source: drove a manual V for over 4 years.

Why are you inferring I was comparing the auto to the manual? Not so. I'm making a direct statement: the manual is a GREAT daily driver, period.

Your time in a manual V1 has little relevance to this argument. The V1 and V2 are different beasts.

Source: drove a manual V1 for 5+ years. Have driven a manual V2 for over 2 years...

I drove a buddys manual coupe and went with an auto sedan. I try to drive my v fairly often 4k in 7 months including winter. I still have my 6speed C5R and nitrous equipped C5 so I can get my 3 pedal fix. I kinda prefer the V as an auto....

If I had a few vettes with a manual to play around with, I'd probally get an auto V too. Since I don't, and the V is my toy, I'm switching it up.
