You can buy trucks that way from the dealerships round these parts.

At the last car gathering I went to with the V, I was surprised to see a V coupe and a GTR. I parked next to them and stepped away and watched. None of the 3 vehicles got more than a casual glance.

You can sort of conclude alot from their ring times.
    7:59 versus 7:55.
    sfv41901 and sfv41901 like this.

Likely because most people look at these cars and think "I am never gonna afford one of those." So why bother.

OK, so that's $10k per second faster than the V around the 'ring, give or take. Don't get me wrong, I love the F10 M5 as much as anybody, but don't want to spend that kind of money.

That's sort of the concensus I think. Except for die-hard hot-rodders or American-onry fanboys we'd all have an M5 over a V if we had a spare 30 grand lying around. Since we don't though, the V is a nearly uncompromising product for 33% off, and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Re: CTS-V is still THE car

    I'd agree....

My local village BMW dealer had the corporate "d00dz" bring a F10 for demo rides for the M-Flight Club last fall. From what they said....the ride and power is amazing.

However...what is interesting is they all said that the M5 will be so "popular" it will most likely after a production year barely turn heads....while Cadillac will take it to the next level in V3 while the F10 is still mid-production. Interesting insight from some diehard American M3/M5 owners who live in Germany and drive the 'Ring regularly.

I didnt like the E60 outside of the V10. Even if it had 600 hp, I would have still preferred the V2. The F10 is a different story, tho. Im close to saying its the best looking M ever. The E60 was such a jump over the 1st gen V, I expected more from the F10 over the V2.

you're not the only one. While the F10 is certinally a jump over the E60, it's not a jump over it's competition. M5board has more than a few 'are you dissapointed' threads amoung the soup of 'look at this blazing 7:55!!' threads.
I also agree about the looks. The new design is growing on me every day. In the end, I just don't see myself in a 100 grand sedan though. I'll probally fold after the F80 M3 or ATS-V hard launches. Because it's not just the inital cost, it's taxes, mantiance and parts prices that'll just drive me broke, an ATS-V wont do that, and an M3 probally won't be as bad.
