    19" street slick

It appears Nitto has released a 19" street slick (Nitto NT05R Drag Radial
    P345/30R-19 BLK ). I found it at

    http://www.discounttiredirect.com/di...w=false&cs=345

Will this tire work on our stock rims?

Any one out there using this tire? Comments or Suggestions about this tire?

I used these tires in 18" on my GTR with excellent results.

I am a newb on the V, but it seems to me as though the 345/30/19 would be too wide for a stock wheel. If it does work, I would also be very interested...

With Nitto's recommended wheel rim width of 12"- 13.5" for this tire it's not going to work on the sedan's 9.5" or the coupe's 10" wheels.

Too bad Nitto doesn't make them in 305/30/19 like the soon to be available MT drag radial.

Would a wider Corvette wheel work?

Always good to check the tire company's recommended wheel rim width against what you're thinking of using, IMO.

Any idea what the wider Vette wheel rim width is?

When is the soon to be available going to be available? Haven't they been promising for a while?

Stock size Vette wheels run anywhere from 8.5 to 12" wide, depending on year. Offset varies widely also.

FWIW, they told me Summit and Jeg's should have them for sale by mid-May. Other than that, your guess is as good as mine!

The new Mickey Thompson 19" tires will be avaliable May 20, per Summits website. My friend is an engineer there and i asked him to get me the first set avaliable. They are much closer size than the Nittos.

Thanks for the info Dale. That should help placate those waiting patiently or even impatiently!

Since you are in line for the first set available would you be good enough to post a thread as to your thoughts/ impressions.

Even better,if you're thinking of going to the track soon after getting them I'm sure there are quite a few 1/4 mile guys who would appreciate hearing your comments.

Vette guys have been running that tire for about a yr and having great results with it.
A 12' Vette rim will not fit our V's.
I have a set of 18*12 I use on my Z06 and it will not fit on the V. Well the rim is too wide. Rubs on the inside of the frame.
Most folks go with a Vette front rim. A 18*9.5.
