    Rotor ?

After washing and a wax, and spraying a tire shine on the tires two days later I noticed a rotor was rusting after the V sat for 2 days.

Me thinks it maybe caused by the spray tire (Mothers brand)shine that may have been sprayed past the tires onto the rotors.... But I really have no idea of the cause.
Am going to call the local dealer and ask the service manager.

    Any Ideas?

I wouldn't worry about it. Take it for a drive and it will go away,

Don't waste your time calling the dealer. Whether the tire shine stuff accelerated the rust or not what is happening is normal and occurs on every rotor on every car in short order. Walk any car dealer lot and you can tell what cars have been sitting in inventory the longest.

    Re: Rotor ?

Stock V rotors are cast iron and they rust almost instantaneously. I usually see rust on my rotors immediately after washing and/or rinsing off the car. Driving in the rain or on wet roads causes rusting. Sitting outside for a few hours in damp or rainy weather causes rusting. The rust is not a problem, and, as others have pointed out, a short drive with the application of the brakes will clean the rust away. Even just driving in and out of your driveway (if you have one) usually does the job.

Rotor rust outside of swept area

Do any of you have brake rotor rust outside of the swept area? My rear rotors are beginning to look like they were salt sprayed, with rust on the inner area (inside, toward the center) of the swept disk area. Looks rather bad although harmless to performance. Dealer just said all rotors rust, nothing they could do.

I should post a pic, I'll try and get one... this is NOT rust on the swept area which is unavoidable on iron rotors.

This is what I am talking about. The rust NOT in the swept area. Does anybody else have this?

    Re: Rotor ?

yeah mine looks like shit too on the rear rotors like that, very dissappointing to have a 60k car and that showing

only fix i would guess is to take off rotor and paint with better paint
