    Re: Fog Lights-HID?

    Hello all,

I have been searching for a while for my question.

I am replacing my Silverstar light bulbs and changing the headlights to a HID Kit. But I want to change my fog lights as well to an HID Kit.

What kit will I need for my 2004 Cadillac CTS

    HID Headlight Kit
    &
    HID Fog light kit

Please let me know what Kits I would need to make the switch.

    Thanks,

    Todd

Funny you asked. I just received a kit and will be installing this weekend. I'll post pics when I am done. I've used Hoen bulbs on my other vehicles and it is a very good product.

What kit did you purchase for you fog lights. Do you have a CTS or CTS-V. I have a H10 kit but the kit is kinda wierd. Someone may be able ot identify this question. On and or near the bulb there is a total of 4 wires. 2 Wires going to the bulb and a another 2 wires. What are the othere 2 wires used for? I think it was for a High Low option but What is the High low stuff. Or do I need not worrk about them wires.

I have both 09's (CTS - wife, CTS-V - mine). I purchased the kit from SHARPHID.com, It was the DDM Ultra Slim HID kit with the H11 bulbs. As for your wires, each set is a little different and you should consult with the manufacturer for the correct wiring diagram. You might be able to google it and pull it up online. Some kits require the bulbs to be wired in series with two wires going to the converter box and the other two wires going to the other bulb so that both bulbs are turned on together. Sorry I couldn't help more.

I have not installed the kit yet. Car went into the shop to remove those holes drilled by the dealer to mount the front license plate. Now that I have it back I just did not get aroound to it. Hopefully this week as the temperatures cool down.

Thought I would post up my before and afters. Used the Hoen H11 xenonmatch bulbs. Took 2 clips off the wheel well stuck, my arm up in between and unplug, and switch out. 10 minutes max. Hope I can see the deer through the fog

edit: Sorry for no link. I was not sure if I was allowed to do so. http://www.hoen-usa.com/fog.htm

There is nothing wrong with the Hoen Bulbs. They look great! I've used them before but wanted greater light output that I could only get with HID. Besides, there is not much fog in my area. The Hoens are the lower cost replacement.
