Respect for t he new V is out there...

since I am so into, and own several cars, I visit a number of different forums. Its kind of nice that this new V is - -for the most part--universally respected already. People are genuinely excited to see it come out and even without performance numbers known..the car folks are anticipating a beast. I'm sure it won't disapoint.

My guess is, the main reason for the excitement is the 550+/550 spec. that has been touted from the very first press release. Horsepower excites universally.

I think the car is being preceded by some serious statements from GM executives, and that's causing many to want to see if they will be able to back up the tough-talk. Again, it's going to be a little while before any magazines get their hands on a production car to test, so until then, the speculation and posturing will continue. I'm not sure what "competition" everyone here is talking about though with respect to why GM is taking so long to come up with finalized data on the car. I'm not aware that any of their "competition" is in any final phase testing of cars that will be in any way competing with the V2. And beyond that, if GM is accurate with the power specs on this car, I doubt they have to worry about any of their "competition" matching or exceeding the V2's numbers. The only reason I can see for holding off on finalized power figures is so they can tweak it if need be to produce the performance numbers they want. Gotta love forced induction!
