show & go front plate fpr CTSV

Has anyone mounted a Show & Go front plate frame on a CTSV (motorized or manual)? My car did not come with a front license plate frame. I had a Show & Go plate on my C6 vert, but the site said the CTSV was not a compatible vehicle for that stye of frame.
    Thanks.

I have/had the motorized one. It was nice until a month later I bottomed out and broke the pulley wheel, now its a manual. I would get the manual. The plastic under the bumper is not sturdy and the body shop I know cut a small piece of metal and stuck it above the plastic, and rivited it though the plastic and metal plate. Mine is not centered on the bumper, but off to the right side and "centered" between the center bumper and the right fog light.

Technically my plate is still illegally mounted in NY.

I brought my car from an out of state dealer that does not use front plates. When I got home, I realized there is no front plate mount. The dealer had to order the front plate mounting bracket, which now, I need to drill 2 holes in my front bumper !!!!

My state requires a front plate, but I don't have one. Haven't been pulled over for it yet. For as much as some of the mounts are, I could probably pay for a couple of tickets for no front plate.

I use the plate holder that attaches to where the tow hook is attached. Can't remember the name of the company anymore though. It also came with a tow hook.

I'm in VA, and have been here for 7 years, no front plates on either of our cars. The only time it was mentioned was during a routine stop in DC, and he couldn't ticket us for that.

Re: show & go front plate fpr CTSV

2 years ago Maryland had discussions on going to only a rear plate. As I understand it from the Corvette Club I was in at the time, the State Police objected to the idea despite the potential financial savings for the state. Thanks for all of the feedback. I like the idea of using the tow point in the front bumper, if I cannot get a show and go style one on there firmly.

No you don't! Just get some black zip ties, thread them through the screw holes in he mounting bracket and attach the front plate mount to the lower section of the grille mesh using the zip ties!

    Best regards,

    Elie

That would block air flow across the radiator.

Don't block airflow. Just skip it. MA is a two plate state. For nearly a decade neither of my Vs ran a front plate...

Even the GM front plate bracket blocks some air flow. But they do it in the middle, and I guess they calculate that into their design.

I would leave it alone. I live in Hawaii which is a two plate state, and the local cops will pull over a white dude like me all the time but sense I got rid of my Charger R/T and joined the big boys with a V2 Coupe, i haven't had one problem with them. I don't rock a front plate on the front or in my windshield. screw it all the police do is drive up beside me give me a thumbs up break their necks looking and drive off.
