I was bored........... Painted ZL1 engine cover

I painted it to match Crystal Red and it came out better than I expected.

    1. Dremel tool(cut opening for ZL1 Lid AN fittings and notch cover above power steering reservoir)
    2. Sand paper(600 grit wet or dry)
    3. White primer(sanding type) 2 coats + more light sanding
    4. Base coat(Crystal Red) 3 coats(10 to 15 minutes between coats) - AutomotiveTouchup.com
    5. Flat black touch up paint for lettering
    6. CTS V sticker(A1 Decals)
    7. High temp clear coat(4 coats) - 10 minutes between coats

Club Malibu and Silverback like this.

I would go with the "or better".

None. There is plenty of room under the brace.

The only issue is the front driver side cover slightly touches the under side of the hood when closing.

I just took the insulation off, and LIGHTLY "massaged" the inner aluminum on the inner hod. Now no more interference. I leave the insulation off for the summer too.

    PetroCTS-V,
On V emblem on your Airaid intake I looked at the A1 decals, what size and color did you order. I could find one with the full colors did you paint the decal or did you get that one from another company? It looks great. Awesome pictures. Did you notice much of an increase in power the ZL1 blower?

    Thank you.

The sticker on the Airaid is from a different company.

The ZL1 lid was changed only. As far as a power increase some have claimed an increase in 15 to 20 rwhp, dyno tested. What I do know for sure is the new Lid is cool to the touch after some spirited driving which is something I could never say about the stock V Lid. IAT2's are normally 10 to 15 degrees over IAT1 while cruising.
